Teaching methods for beginners

For the purpose of more efficient and successful beginner training, the choice of method of work is very important. The methods that are most commonly used, and at the same time proved to be the most desirable and most successful in the beginner's groups, are:

Demonstration method Method of oral presentation Method of practical work

The method of demonstration (Visual) in the training of beginners from 7 to 10 years is the basic method and it has wide application in training. It consists in showing the movements, motor working and elements of the technique. It allows the players to directly perceive motor activity, primarily with the sense of the sight. Visual observation in the process of training is the basis for successful learning of motor activities and development of the players' movement. This is especially important because the beginners need to get a visual of the movements. Demonstration of the movement is performed by a coach or a young player who has successfully mastered the given element. It should be noted that the movements that are being demonstrated are performed more often, slowly, accurately and precisely.

The method of oral presentation (Audio) has a great practical value for working with children. Each movement in addition to the demonstration should also be explained with words. In a short period of time, using this method, players can exhibit a certain substance or give additional explanation, and the exercise intensity is significantly reduced. The coach's method emphasizes what is the essence of the movement that is being performed, and explanations with which coach instructs the beginners must be simple, clear, concrete, and short. It is especially important that oral data is given only the most important data related to the task being implemented, short time interval. Other explanations are frustrating beginners and lead to a drop in attention and motivation. Also, the coach uses an oral explanation when it is necessary to improve the work on specific tasks or make some corrections. This method is usually successfully used in combination with the other two methods.

The method of practical work (Tactile) is directed towards acquiring practical knowledge. The practical knowledge is acquired through the active work of the players, under the control of the coach. Using this method they learn movements and motor actions. The learning of new movements and motor actions is accomplished using analytical, synthetic and combined methods of exercise . The movements and motor activities are taught by a large number of repetitions, firstly in facilitated conditions and then in different situations. In the process of practical work, the learning of motor actions is going through three phases: generalization, differentiation and automation. It is especially important to point out that the coach must initially correct the mistakes in the movement of the movement so that the movement is not erroneous. The pedagogue (coach) in working with children must be full of understanding and patience. It is important not to force children, because learning for each element of the technique takes a certain amount of time for its adoption. Point out that we must not insist on speed, but on accuracy in the performance of the movement.
